Bob Brock
Services for former Marion High School principal Robert (Bob) A. Brock, 86, who died Dec. 15 at Clinton Healthcare in Clinton, Missouri, will be 10 a.m. Jan. 27 at First Presbyterian Church in Clinton.
Born June 21, 1937, at Cawker City to Frank and Bess Brock, he received a music degree from Fort Hays State College and taught in Otis, where he met and married his wife of 63 years, Patricia Miller.
He was band director in Cimarron, received a master’s degree in education from Wichita State University, and taught band in Liberal and Garden City before becoming principal in Marion from 1982 to 1988.
He then was superintendent in Cuba and Horton and a principal in Ellsworth before retiring in 2002 and moving to Missouri.
Survivors include his wife; children Layne Brock of Oro Valley, Arizona; Jody Donaldson of Weatherford, Texas; Craig Brock of Lawrence; and Randy Brock of Leawood; seven grandchildren; and a great- granddaughter.
Also surviving are siblings Mary Ann Davis of O’Fallon, Missouri; Betty Moore of Arlington, Texas; Fran Paxton of Overland Park; Jeanie Munsch of Russell; Kathy Blau of Olathe; Doris Tompkins of St. John; Gus Brock of Albuquerque; and John Brock of Tempe, Arizona.
A memorial has been established with Bourland Radiation Oncology Center of Clinton and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
