Bob Raleigh
Mass of Christian Burial for Robert H. “Bob” Raleigh, 78, Marion, who passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at St. Luke Living Center, will be celebrated by Father Isaac Coulter at 10 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2025, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Marion.
Bob’s family will gather with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the church. His vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Marion Cemetery.
Bob’s life began Sept. 22, 1946, in Marion. His parents were William Hurshel and Lois (Kelsey) Raleigh.
He was a 1965 graduate of Marion High School. He was united in marriage Dec. 10, 1997, in Marion to Mary (Schafers) Raleigh.
Bob was Marion County noxious weed director. He also worked for many years for the City of Marion in electric maintenance and at its water plant.
He was a parishioner at St. Mark’s and enjoyed fishing and pontoon boating at Marion Reservoir as well as golf cart rides around the lake.
He was an expert on the grill and especially enjoyed his Monday night poker games. If there was a card game, conversation, sporting event, or cold beverage, that’s where you’d find him, surrounded by family and friends, enjoying all life’s blessings.
He is survived by wife Mary of Marion; sons Gary Raleigh (and wife Jalena) of Valley Center and Mark Raleigh (and wife Michelle) of Watertown, New York; stepdaughter Nicole Stephenson; grandchildren Mitch Raleigh (and wife Lexi), Cole Collins (and wife Naussica), Shannah Collins, Kelsey Raleigh, and Zach Raleigh; step-grandchildren Rebeka Stephenson, Hannah Stephenson, and J.T. Stephenson; and great-grandchildren Walker and Mallory Collins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Amy Raleigh, and brother Terry Raleigh.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Holy Family Parish, St. Mark Church.
