Brazilian barbecue is Saturday

Brad and Jeannie Wildin will present a Brazilian barbecue dinner Saturday at Marion Country Club.

Jeannie Wildin said they have had the dinners regularly for several years. The idea came from Felipe Bonventi, the first of many Brazilian exchange students who have stayed with the Wildins.

When Wildin asked him if there was any food he missed from Brazil, he said he missed picanha, but he said it didn’t translate well into English, so he couldn’t explain exactly what it was. Eventually following a trip to Brazil and a little detective work, Wildin learned the meal is made from top sirloin cap beef.

The meal will include picanha and Brazilian side dishes, desserts, and drinks. A social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., and the dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. To make reservations, call the County Seat at (620) 382-3300. There is a $20 per person charge.
