Brunner, Svoboda elected to district FFA offices

At the South Central District FFA Banquet April 20 at Buhler High School, two Centre FFA members were elected as district officers for the upcoming school year.

Tanner Brunner will serve as district vice president, and Cole Svoboda will serve as sentinel.

Several members received district awards including Alex Hajek, beef production proficiency; Svoboda, vegetable production proficiency and 2009 star greenhand in placement; and Brian Burhoop, 2009 star greenhand in production.

Theo Kassebaum presented the FFA creed. She will compete at the state convention at the end of May. Nathan Barney and Heath Hill were recognized as qualifiers for the state FFA degree, which they will receive at the state convention.

At least 22 people from Centre school district, including members, parents, and advisers, attended the event.
