Bucks for belts offered at school

In a campaign to raise seatbelt safety awareness, Marion Police Department were offering dollars to USD 408 students offered up to school wearing their seatbelts and warnings to those who did not.

Drivers receive $1 if everyone in their car is wearing a seat belt.

Marion Police Chief Tyler Mermis said more students were wearing seatbelts than not.

The campaign was timed with Labor Day weekend, one of the busiest traffic weekends of the entire year.
