Caravan to target exploitation
A caravan Aug. 20 from Hillsboro’s Memorial Park to Marion County Lake will raise money for a charity that attempts to rescue children from sexual exploitation and trafficking.
Participants will gather at 2 p.m. at the park to drive at 2:30 p.m. to the lake hall, where a minimum donation of $20 per car will be solicited.
The sometimes controversial charity, Operation Underground Railroad, was featured in a movie, “Sound of Freedom.”
At 4 p.m. at the lake hall, retired data scientist Earl Glynn of Olathe will speak at a Patriots for Freedom meeting about election security.
Pastor Rob Rotola of Word of Life Church in Wichita will speak about City Elders, a group that bills itself as offering a Biblical model of city governance.
