Chingawassa Committee announced Friday that the Casey Donahew Band will be the headlining act at this year’s Chingawassa Days festival, performing the night of June 6.
“We anticipate this band and this type of music to draw a young crowd from outside of Marion County, folks that wouldn’t typically attend Chingawassa Days,” said Tammy Ensey, a committee member.
The band recently sold out back-to-back concerts in Wichita, and has toured all over the country. Its songs have been featured on many country music charts. Casey Donahew’s 2011 release “Double Wide Dream” debuted at No. 2 on the iTunes Country chart, No. 8 on its overall chart, No. 32 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart and No. 10 on its country music chart.
“We are delighted to welcome Casey Donahew to the Marion area, as we know this band will put on a fantastic show for festival attenders,” Chingawassa Committee Chairman Clayton Garnica said.
Buttons for Chingawassa Days go on sale for $25 in May, and will be $35 beginning in June. Day passes are available at the gate for $6, but do not grant entry into the show.
