Cazadores adds buffet

Staff writer

Cazadores Restaurant in Marion has added a twice-a-week buffets to its offerings.

Customers who are in a hurry can fill their own plates and not have to wait for their meal selection to be cooked.

“No more waiting on the food,” co-owner Jonathan Ramirez said. “They have all kinds of choices, they can pick anything they want.”

Prices are $8 for lunch and $10 for dinner. When the buffet is open, menu items are not available.

Jonathan and Leora Ramirez, owners of Cazadores, said they planned for about a year before introducing their buffet.

The couple has run their restaurant in Marion four years, and ran one in Yates Center for a year before that. With Marion being a bit larger, it offered more business opportunity than Yates Center, Jonathan said.

“It has more friendly people, too,” Jonathan said. “We like the people here.”

Leora said the buffet might be expanded and might be offered more days each week, depending on what their customers want.

Lunch buffet might become a daily offering within just weeks.

Their plan is to always offer American foods on the buffet to please customers who prefer it.

The Ramirezes are looking for ways to improve their offerings and welcome customer input and comment to make their buffet even better.

So far, their idea has been well received.

“We heard a lot of good comments,” Leora said.

“I think everybody really liked it,” Jonathan said.

Next on their list is doing some work on the building itself, but next summer is when they expect to begin that project.
