Celtic band to returns to county
After having a couple of fun gigs in Marion, Knocknasheega Celtic Band will be in Florence on Saturday for Summer Solstice in the Flint Hills.
The genesis of the event came when Judy Mills was speaking with Pam Bowers and Jeanice Thomas. They had the idea for a joint community event for Florence and Marion. Bowers and Thomas had good experiences with Knocknasheega through Marion’s Art and Music Stroll and a night of Celtic music and food, so they recommended booking the Celtic band.
In addition to music, there will be a meal of pork and beef tenderloin with Irish whiskey sauce, bacon-wrapped green beans, roasted red potatoes, Doyle Creek house salad, rolls, and chocolate dessert. The event is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. with the meal beginning at 6:30.
Bowers said the event fills the role of the usual monthly steak night in Florence, although there won’t be a steak night in June. It will be at the Doyle Creek Corral.
Reservations are required and cost $25 per person. To make a reservation, call (620) 878-4567.
