Banner year comes to a close
The 2009-10 basketball season proved to be a turnaround for the Centre High School Cougars. With an overall record of 12-9, it was their first winning season since 2003.
This was Greg Wyatt’s first full season as the Cougars’ coach.
They finished their final season in the disbanding Dwight D. Eisenhower League as league champions and league tournament champions.
They have not had a league tournament championship since 1995.
The team had an overall scoring average of 41 percent from the field and 52 percent from the free-throw line. They averaged 55.9 points and 36.9 rebounds.
Trevor Troutt scored the most points, 441, and had the most free throws, 78, and a leading 200 rebounds.
Alex Hajek provided 27 blocked shots, 32 steals, and 55 assists.
