Centre Cougars get a bye at sub-state
The Centre High School boys basketball team will compete this week in the Class 1A Division I sub-state tournament at Burrton.
Centre, with a record of 12-8, is second seed and has a first-round bye. The team will play at 6 p.m. Friday against the winner of the Little River (12-8) and Claflin (4-16) game.
Little River is third seed and Claflin is sixth seed. Pretty Prairie, with a record of 17-1, has first seed. Other teams in the tournament are Goessel (10-10) and Burrton (5-15).
“If we can play consistent ball for 32 minutes, we have as good a chance as any to come out of our sub-state a winner,” Coach Greg Wyatt said.
