Centre High School students are celebrating spirit week in preparation for homecoming festivities Friday.
Students will wear class colors and compete in a Cougar Olympics at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the gymnasium. Faculty and staff also will compete. The public is invited.
Coronation of the king and queen will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Cougar Field, prior to the football game against Elk Valley.
King candidates are: Brandon Albrecht, son of Troy and Christina Peterson, Lincolnville; Nathan Barney, son of Gene and Denise Barney, Tampa; and Konley Harding, son of Kelsey and Candace Harding of Burdick and the late Lois Harding.
Queen candidates are: Leann Pankratz, daughter of Sherri Pankratz, Lincolnville; Danielle Tajchman, daughter of Brenda Dittman, Lincolnville, and John Tajchman, Herington; and Sheila Makovec, daughter of Gail and Marissa Makovec, Ramona.
Little helpers are Kara Riffel, daughter of James and Beth Riffel, and Tyler Nickel, son of Kacey and Karen Nickel, Tampa.
Complete Music of Manhattan will provide music for the homecoming dance after the game. Admission is $2 per person.
The theme is “Just a Dream,” and colors are silver and black.
