Centre competes well at own track meet

Centre was host to a Central Kansas Track League meet at Marion April 24, and at least eight Centre athletes contributed points.
Kate Basore continued to excel in javelin, with another first-place finish, and Cody Svoboda finished first in the boys contest.
Xavier Espinoza placed first in long jump and 100-meter dash after missing two meets with an ankle injury.
Finishing in second place were Aiden Svoboda in the 1600-meter, Gracie Luna in the 3200-meter run, and Alyssa Luna in triple jump.
Third-place finishers were Braxton Smith in javelin, Basore in shot put and discus, Cailey Barney in long jump, and a 4x100 relay team of Barney, Alyssa and Samantha Espinoza, and Emma David.
Boys and girls teams both finished fourth out of six schools.
