Centre Cougars trampled 52- in first game

Staff writer

Centre may have had more carries than Solomon Friday playing on the road, but the 75 rushing yards compared with 268 yards by Solomon tell the story. The Gorillas defeated the Cougars 52-0 in a game that was called at halftime because of a mercy rule.

The Cougars completed 2-of-6 passes for 16 yards and threw one interception. Solomon had 64 passing yards.

Barrett Smith and Max Svoboda combined for 60 yards rushing. Cole Methvin rushed for 13 yards. Receivers were Dylan Deines for 12 yards and Svoboda for four yards.

The Cougars did better on penalties than Solomon, giving up just 25 yards compared with 30 by Solomon.

Centre will play Little River at home Friday.
