Centre cross country

Two of the three members of the Centre High School cross-country team medaled Thursday at the Hesston invitational.

C.J. Thompson finished 10th in the freshman boys’ division, and Nellie Kassebaum finished 18th in the senior girls’ division. Sophomore James Spohn finished 26th.

The junior high team of six seventh-grade boys competed Sept. 9 at Sacred Heart in Salina. Taylor Smith finished 6th and Devin August finished 10th to medal. Other runners were Dillon Knepp, 13th; Jack Reneu, 14th; Tyler Nickel, 17th; and Cameron Spohn, 23rd.

Ryan August placed 13th in the eighth grade boys’ division. Jordan Smith placed highest among all Centre racers, winning the eighth grade girls’ division with a time of 6 minutes, 46 seconds.
