Centre employees will get raises

It was a good year for employees of Centre school district. Everybody got pay raises for the next school year.
At its monthly meeting last week, the school board approved 5 percent raises for teachers and classified staff. The raise sets the teachers’ base salary at $38,281.
Superintendent Susan Beeson received a $2,500 raise to $102,873. Seventh through 12th-grade principal Donald Raymer received a $2,500 raise to $72,000.
Pay for student learning advocates in the Kansas Online Learning Program was increased from $300 to $375 a year per student.
Angela Basore and Kim Smith were approved as freshman class sponsors. They will be sponsors of that class as it moves through high school.
A new football sled was purchased.
The Dakota Gardner family was given permission to enroll a foreign exchange student, Regina Daniels of Germany, in Centre for the 2019-20 school year.
The board accepted the resignation of Deb Casey as school nurse.
