Centre FFA par-law team qualifies for state competition

Centre High School hosted the South Central FFA District Leadership School Nov. 10. Twelve schools were represented.

Centre FFA par-law parliamentary procedure team finished in second place, qualifying it for state competition next June in Manhattan.

Members of the team were Tanner Brunner, Cole Svoboda, Tori Marler, Brian Burhoop, Theo Kassebaum, and Ripley Howard.

Two teams participated in the freshman division of the par-law contest. A team composed of Rebekah Basore, Anna Weber, Houston Svoboda, Ellie Miller, Justin Deines, and Jerami Slayden took second place.

A team comprised of Carlson, Tom Oborny, Cory Brunzell, Kendall Harding, Dallen Thompson, and Skylar Sullivan placed sixth.

Anna Weber placed fourth and Carrie Carlson ninth among 23 students who participated in the creed-speaking contest.

Weber placed second and Justin Deines seventh in the FFA information exam, which consisted of 100 current and historical questions about the FFA organization.
