Centre’s boys have three wins on the year after victories last week over Rural Vista and Herington in a pre-season tournament.

Against Rural Vista, the boys led 19-11 after the first quarter and won, 69-50.

Luke Hudson led the team with 17 points, 19 rebounds, nine assists, and eight steals. Other leading scorers were Mikey Silhan, 16; Gentri Holub, 13; and Santiago Knepp, 9.

The Cougars struggled against a tall team Friday, falling behind early, 16-1, and eventually losing, 55-21, to Chase County.

Hudson scored 11 points, followed by Silhan, 5, Nick Krch, 4, and Tanner Stuchlik, 1.

On Saturday, Centre defeated winless Herington, 54-23. Hudson had 19 points, 7 steals, and 13 rebounds. Other scorers were Silhan, 13; Holub, 7; Quinten Bina, 5; Krch, 4; Kyle Peterson, 3; and Knepp, 3.
