Centre girls still looking for first victory

A young Centre volleyball team had a respectable showing Saturday despite losing all three matches in pool play
in their own invitational.

They fell to Marion, 22-25 and 17-25; Little River, 18-25 and 20-25; and Wichita Classical, 25-27 and 18-25.

Their best game was against Wichita Classical, in which they forced their opponent to score 27 points before declaring victory.

Alyssa Espinoza, Allie Hird, and Gracie Luna were leading scorers, serving for a total of 14 points against Wichita Classic.

Alyssa and her twin sister, Samantha, each had five blocks. They were leading attackers, along with Carly Deines and Gracie Luna.

Alyssa Espinoza was a perfect 27 of 27 in setting and provided 22 assists, followed by Emily Silhan, with 19 of 19 sets and 15 assists.
