Centre grad receives scholarship
Kailyn Riffel, a recent Centre High School graduate, this week was announced as a recipient of a $500 scholarship for nursing. She will attend Wichita State University in the fall.
Riffel works part-time as a certified nursing assistant at a retirement community.
“The best feeling is when a resident tells you they appreciate everything you have done for them,” Riffel said. “I am rewarded knowing that I am doing something that makes someone feel better.”
Riffel graduated Centre with a 3.83 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society, student council, FFA, Students Against Drunk Driving, Future Business Leaders of America, Lutheran Youth Organization, and volleyball and girls’ basketball teams.
