Centre, Herington
to field joint ball teams

The Centre and Herington school districts have agreed to establish a joint baseball and softball program.

Neither district have had such baseball or softball programs in the past.

The agreement will run until June 1, 2030. Herington will host games; “Railers” will be the team’s name.

Herington will select the head coach, and Centre will select the assistant, based on recommendations from the two schools’ activities directors and principals.

Costs will be split 60/40 across the board.

Game schedules are still being determined.
