Centre basketball swept Peabody-Burns teams during makeup games Saturday at Centre.
Centre girls ran over the Warriors, 55-19, and the boys won a nail-biter, 63-56.
Centre boys trailed by two to five points during the first half of the game, but a 3-pointer by Aidan Svoboda at the buzzer gave Centre a 29-28 lead.
Numerous turnovers as the third quarter began put the Cougars back in the hole.
Four points by Dalton Stika near the end of the quarter tied the game at 43-43, but the Warriors struck back with a basket at the buzzer to reclaim the lead.
After a 47-43 start by Peabody-Burns, Svoboda, Jacob Hurd, Riffel, and Stika combined for nine unanswered points, giving Centre a 52-47 lead.
Svoboda was the leading scorer, 16; Riffel, 15; Stika, 11; Braxton Smith, 9; and Hurd, 5.
Stika and Riffel combined for 21 rebounds, and Hird had six assists.

By halftime, the Cougars led 37-13. After a 1-2 fourth quarter, Centre won by 36 points.
Coach Alan Stahlecker was pleased with how his girls played. They all scored.

Alyssa Espinoza scored 19 points, and Kelsey Hett scored 15.
Other scorers were Samantha Espinoza, 5 points, and Emily Casey, Alex Remmers, and Lili Espinoza, 2 each.
