For the first time in many years, Centre, on Thursday, fielded a cross-country meet at the Herington Golf Course.

James Spohn medaled in the junior varsity boys’ division with a ninth-place finish in 22 minutes and 15 seconds.

Medalers in middle school competition included eighth-grader Jordan Smith, who finished second at 13:21, and sixth-graders Taylor Smith, fifth, at 6:41, and Devin August, 10th, at 6:57.

High school varsity: Nellie Kassebaum, 20th, 20:05; C.J. Thompson, 16th, 20:37.

High school junior varsity: Cassy Thompson, 19th, 32:21.

Middle school eighth-grade boys: Ryan August, 11th, 15:31.

Middle school sixth-grade boys: Dillon Knepp, 18th, 7:50; Jack Reneu, 19th, 7:51; Tyler Nickel, 22nd, 8:53; and Cameron Spohn, 24th, 9:35.
