Centre leads in golf

The two-day state golf tournament started one hour late on Monday because of storm damage Sunday night at the Hesston golf course.
Centre
With a score of 161, Centre’s Easton Glessner placed 12th place Tuesday at the state golf tournament in Hesston with a total score of 161. He scored an 82 Monday to qualify for the second round. Tuesday, he improved on his score finishing with a 79.
Goessel
Goessel’s golf team played on the soggy course. Levi Schrag emerged as the team leader with a first-round score of 78. He was followed by Noah Schrag with a first-round score of 80. The weather was different Tuesday, with strong winds and plenty of sunshine. Both brothers had higher scores, with Levi finishing with 85 and Noah 86.
Levi captured 14th place and Noah was in a six-way tie for 15th. As a team, Goessel finished seventh out of 12.
Hillsboro
Lincoln Wichert tied for 20th Tuesday at the state golf tounrament in Dodge City.He tied for 29th Monday with a score of 85, good enough to qualify for Day 2, where he improved his position on the leader board.
