The Centre FFA Chapter traveled to Maize High School to attend the South Central District (SCD) FFA Banquet on April 20.
Cassidy Hill was awarded the district star in agriculture placement. She will represent the chapter and district at the state FFA star selection in Manhattan in early May. Hill also received The SCD Sheep Production Proficiency Award. Her application placed second at state-level evaluations in March.
Jared Barney, Cassidy Hill, Nellie Kassebaum, Callie Riffel, and Kailyn Riffel were recognized as state FFA Degree recipients and will be receiving their state degree awards at the Kansas FFA State Convention May 27 through 29 in Manhattan.
Centre was recognized for its National Chapter Application, which lists chapter activities that encourage individual growth, teamwork, and service. Rankings will be announced during the state convention.
Delegates Rebecca Reneau and Carissa Shields took part in the selection of the 2015-2016 SCD FFA officer team. Kristin Vinduska was slated as a candidate for the office of treasurer but was not elected. She gave a speech during the business session.
