Centre track faces stiff competition at Herington

Staff writer

The Centre track and field team had a tough time Thursday competing with 10 other schools at the Herington invitational meet.

There were no top-three finishers among the boys. The girls’ team had several third-place finishes.

The girls’ 4x800 relay team shaved 10 seconds off their own school record set two weeks prior with a time of 10 minutes, 58.3 seconds.

Brenna Shields placed third in the 100 and 400. She also placed in long jump and javelin.

Amanda Salamone placed third in high jump.

The Wheat State League meet is Thursday at Goessel.
