Centre wins district FFA contest

At least 16 schools attended the South-Central District FFA leadership and creed-speaking competition Thursday at Centre High School.

Tanner Brunner, Cole Svoboda, Theo Kassebaum, Brian Burhoop, Carrie Carlson, and Bryanna Svoboda scored high in the parliamentary test, earning the Centre FFA chapter a first-place finish. They will represent Centre at the state convention in May.

Kevin Lewis placed first in creed speaking. He also will compete at the state convention. Makenzie Deines placed third.

Centre placed second in upper division parliamentary procedure.

Of the 66 individuals who took the leadership information test, Timothy Vinduska placed 23rd and Kyle Methvin 34th. Centre placed seventh overall.

Bryanna Svoboda was appointed sentinel on the Greenhand division ritual team. Ritual teams present opening and closing ceremonies.
