Chingawassa Days 2012 was neither an enormous success nor anything approaching a failure financially, Chingawassa Days Committee Chairman Mike Powers said Monday.

Final figures weren’t available because some bills were still coming, but it appeared to be a break-even year, he said.

“It was not one of our better years, but it was not one of our down years, financially speaking,” Powers said. “We’ll live to fight another day.”

He estimated 1,800 people attended the Starship concert Saturday night, slightly below average. Powers said he doesn’t put the same stock he used to in gauging overall attendance by the headline concert. Increasingly there are festivalgoers who attend a few events during the day but go home before the concert, he said.
