Christian book author to speak at Tabor

Tabor College will host Phillip Yancey on Friday Nov. 9 for “Seasons of the Soul.” The lecture will be at 7:30 p.m. at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. Doors open at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Yancey is a best-selling author. Early in his career he wrote books such as “Disappointment with God” and “Where is God When it Hurts?” He also edited “The Student Bible.” He coauthored three books with surgeon Paul Brand.

More recently he has explored issues central to Christain faith including “The Jesus I Never Knew,” “What’s So Amazing About Grace?” and “Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference?”

His books have garnered 13 gold medallion awards from Christain publishers and booksellers. He currently has more than 15 million books in print, published in 35 languages.
