The Christian Women’s Fellowship of Marion Christian Church recently celebrated its 100th anniversary with a banquet.
The theme of the evening was, “Our God is Faithful.” This thought was carried out in the decorations as well as the program. Mementos of the evening marked each place.
After the dinner, a miniature three-tiered cake was cut and served by Donna Hayen, outgoing president, and Margaret Tice, incoming president, as the women sang “Happy Birthday, C.W.F.”
Louise Janzen was recognized as the oldest member and presented with a bouquet of flowers. Chris Kerns led the group in devotions, and Donna Fruechting presented a history of the organization.
The Rev. Carl Helm was the speaker and gave an inspiring message — remembering the past, serving in the present, and a challenge for the future.
Committee members who planned the event were Carol Robertson, Donna Fruechting, and Theodora Koslowky.
