CHS sweeps volleyball triangular

The Centre High School volleyball team improved its record to 12-10 last week with victories against White City and Little River in a triangular at Little River.

Genesis Rudolph and Shelby Makovec were perfect in setting in both matches, and the team completed all but three serves.

The Lady Cougars defeated White City, 25-7 and 25-16. Brianna Svoboda served for 11 points including five aces. She also delivered 17 spikes at the net including five kills. Anna Weber completed 19-of-22 spike attempts, three for kills. She also had one block, along with Cacey Simons.

Centre defeated Little River in three games, 24-26, 25-12, and 25-20. Weber served for 15 points including seven aces. She also delivered 38 spikes at the net including six kills. Svoboda had 21 spikes and one kill; Simons had 20 spikes, four kills, and three blocks; Ellie Miller had 12 spikes, five kills, and two blocks; and Carrie Carlson had five spikes.

The team will play Hope and White City Tuesday at parents’ night.

Junior high

The Centre Junior High School volleyball team remained undefeated Thursday after they won both matches in a triangular at Goessel. They defeated Elyria, 25-20 and 25-14, and Goessel, 15-25, 25-16, and 15-11.

Their record is 7-0. They will host Rural Vista Thursday.
