CHS to present ‘Grease’

At least 33 students will be involved in the school version of the musical “Grease” this weekend at Centre High School. It will be presented at 7 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is free, but donations will be welcome.

Set in Rydell High School in 1959, the musical reflects the lives of 10 students as they navigate their teenage years. The score, is from the early era of rock and roll.

The cast of 22 features leading characters Dakota Stimpson as Danny and Abigail Svoboda as Sandy.

Michelle VanLeeuwen, Cassy Thompson, Kate Basore, and Whitney Gutsch will portray the Pink Ladies.

Conner Montgomery, Max Svoboda, Tyler Bentz, and Barrett Smith will portray the Burger Palace Boys.

There are six other cast members and five teen angels.Eleven students make up the stage crew.

The musical is directed by Morgan Menefee, Danielle Murrell, and Jennifer Montgomery.
