Richard Ciero filed suit Aug. 25 against Sunny Slope. Ciero seeks more than $75,000, claiming Sunny Slope cut a large tree on Ciero’s historic property at 1761 Quail Creek Rd. in such a fashion that large portions of the tree fell on the house, causing damage to the roof, porch and foundation, and walls negatively impacting the structural integrity of the home.
County Clerk Ashley Herpich filed a petition Aug. 20 seeking to remove the name John Rockney Hett from the November ballot as a candidate for director of Cottonwood Valley Drainage District because Hett died.
Novak Farms filed a petition Aug. 22 seeking to evict Wilson and Erica Davis from property at 2973 Mustang Rd. Novak Farms seeks $48,686 plus costs and interest for unpaid rent and damage to the property.
Walton State Bank filed a petition Aug. 19 against Larry and Barbara Smith to quiet title to property at 202 E. Main St., Marion. The bank purchased the property at a tax sale in November, 2015. Portions of the building are at risk of condemnation by the City of Marion because of deteriorating walls.
