Clifford M. “Bud” Lucas, 87, died Jan. 26, 2012, at the Kansas City Presbyterian Manor, Kansas City.

He was born Aug. 8, 1924, in Marion to Stuart and Beulah Bueford Lucas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Mildred Bezdek on Jan. 16, 1946. She preceded him in death on Jan. 2, 2012.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Lucas; a daughter, Sharon Lucas; and siblings, Ronald Lucas, Lyle “Shorty” Lucas, and Shirley Burkholder.

He is survived by a son, Cliff Lucas of Peabody; three sisters, Dorothy Kohls of Salina, Wanda Feldhut of California, and Betty Crank of California; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service was Monday at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion, with the Rev. David Branson officiating. Interment was in Marion Cemetery with Fort Riley Honor Guard providing military rites.
