Two area coaches were inducted Saturday into the Kansas Volleyball Association’s Hall of Fame.
Hillsboro volleyball coach Sandy Arnold was recognized for her successful program.
She played volleyball at Bethel College and began her coaching career at Southern Cloud High School, then Canton-Galva before beginning her tenure at Hillsboro.
Accumulating more than 700 victories and consistently appearing in state volleyball tournaments were instrumental in her receiving the Hall of Fame honor.
Also recognized was Jason Peters, longtime volleyball coach at Hesston High School who began his coaching career as an assistant at Goessel then as a student assistance coach at Bethel.
He was assistant coach at Hesston for several years and then head coach for 20 years, amassing more than 500 varsity victories.
He has been on the executive board of the Kansas Volleyball Association and has been instrumental in gathering statistical information leading to player recognition and team rankings during the volleyball season.
