Sixty-five Collett descendents met Oct. 11 at Marion County Lake Hall for a reunion.

After dinner, a white elephant auction was held. Auctioneers Gina Marx and Deanna Talbott entertained the crowd.

Plans for the 2010 reunion were discussed. The family will be celebrating the 150th anniversary since the first Collett family moved to the Elk community in Chase County. The next reunion will be a three-day event in conjunction with Marion’s Old Settlers’ Day.

Officers for the 2010 reunion are president Keith Collett and secretary Jeanne Owens.

Those attending this year’s reunion from out of town were Ken and L’Erin Morris and Lakelyn, Roma and Bill Skaggs, Hollyce Morris, and Leon and Cate Hayen, all of Topeka; Bethany and Lancer Brayton and Kori Talbott of Lawrence; Marlene O’Neal of Manhattan; Randy Collett and Zack of Jefferson City, Mo.; Rick and Collette Erickson of Chapman; Colleen Garman, Brea and Andrea, and Anita and Kenneth Sly of Salina; and Carman Parrack of Plano, Texas.
