Collett family reunion attracts 69 descendants

The Collett family reunion was held on Oct. 13 at the Marion County Lake Hall with 69 descendants attending.

Guests shared a potluck meal before participating in the traditional white elephant auction. Deanna Talbott and Gina Marx were auctioneers. A framed sale bill from the 1924 Fred Collett auction received the highest bid.

Officers for next year’s reunion on Oct. 12, 2014, will be Vin Parazin, president, with Carrie Parazin assisting, and Mary Collett, secretary.

Attending from out of town were Kenneth and Anita Sly, and Andrea Alstatt of Salina; Brea Castleberry of Burns; John Umberger of Lincolnville; Roma Skaggs, Dan and Hollyce, Kenneth and Lakelyn Morris, and Lucy Collett of Topeka; Konnie Schuman of Shawnee.

Marge, Brad, Logan, and Mason, and Deanna Talbott, Terry, Gina and John Henry Marx of Wichita; Bethany, Lancer and Hollyanne Brayton, Caroline Collett, and friend Thornton and Keith and Annie Collett of Chapman.

Melinda and Martin Gravenstein of Nevada City, Cal; Clarice and Vernon Owens of Olathe; Mary Collett, Pat Talbott and Ron, Becca, Alec and Kira Wagner of Overland Park; Steve Collett of Cedar Point and friend Gloria Martin of Herington; Allen and Ila Stone of Hutchinson.
