Because it was the anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, I read a book by Danielle Steel, “Silent Honor.”This is a story (fiction) about what a Japanese family went through following the bombing. Japanese people were arrested and put in camps throughout the country. It didn’t matter that many of them were American citizens. They were humiliated and felt so betrayed. Their living quarters were awful and they were badly treated. This lasted until the war was over.
In World War I we were mean to anyone with a German name. I had a teacher in junior high and he had a German name. He just disappeared. I often wonder what happened.
Chicago has been known as the city of gangs. Now it has changed to the city of criminal governors. I blame all of this criminal action to the fact these people missed childhood training in honesty and integrity. No wonder the U.S. is getting a bad name with other countries.
I’m going to feel guilty all through the Christmas season. I already have received a lot of beautiful Christmas cards but you know what? As much as I love receiving the cards and love the people who send them, I have decided not to send cards this year. I am tired or old.
Please accept this as my Christmas greeting.
Merry Christmas!
