Serving three meals a day has proven to be more profitable than selling convenience items at Route 77 Pit Stop in Lincolnville.

For that reason, owners Heath and Sabrina Shields are downsizing the convenience aspect of their business and promoting the restaurant side.

The building at 205 Lincolnville Ave., originally constructed in the 1990s as a café, has a full kitchen. When the couple purchased it as a convenience store a year ago last October, they offered limited breakfast and lunch menus and have since expanded those menus and added a dinner menu.

The dinner menu is similar to lunch with the addition of appetizers. The restaurant offers a breakfast pizza and regular pizzas for lunch and dinner.

During winter months, chili and potato soup are available.

Sometimes Shields and her employee, Kelly Chapman, offer baked goods such as cinnamon rolls, brownies, and cheesecake. Shields wants to add pies to the menu.

“We get a lot of highway traffic, especially during the K-State sports seasons,” she said.

Beer, soda pop, chips, candy bars, and other snack food still will be available as convenience items. Business hours will remain 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
