Some braved the cold weather and went on the hayrack ride around Burdick and back to the Burdick United Methodist Church for roasted hot dogs over a campfire. Roger Cooper entertained with songs, wit, and humor to a full house Saturday evening. Some of the youths went on a night walk and watched movies in the church. Twelve youths and four adults stayed overnight in the church. On Sunday, breakfast, Sunday school, and services with Cooper and the Rev. Jay J. Beck were followed by a dinner.
The Corlberg-Smith 147 American Legion Auxiliary met Oct. 6 at the Legion hall. Five members were present: Rosemary Hempleman, Lois Peterson, Nancy Hanson, Linnea Barlow, and Darlene Gutsch. It was voted to help the Legion with pancake days Nov. 7 and 14 and to send money for Christmas to the Topeka Veterans Hospital for the Gift Shop, canteen fund, and dollar bill fund. The next meeting will be 2 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Legion hall with Lois Peterson hosting.
Harry Schump of Herington and Dean Forsberg were dinner guests Oct. 5 of Evelyn Forsberg.

Eric Peterson of Guymon, Okla., was a dinner guest Oct. 6 of Mary Deane Peterson.
Forrest and Marie Anderson accompanied Gary and Karen Korte of Emporia Saturday to the Hyllningsfest celebration in Lindsborg. They visited Maurine Johnson at Bethany Home in the afternoon.

Burdick United Methodist Women will meet at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall.
Elinor Remy was an afternoon visitor Oct. 7 of Harold Diepenbrock at Medicalodges in Herington.
Dean Forsberg was a dinner and afternoon guest Oct. 7 of Evelyn Forsberg.
Tad and Tye Remy of Manhattan were dinner guests Sept. 28 of Elinor Remy, they had a day off from school.
Burdick Senior Citizens will meet at noon Friday at the Legion hall. Fried chicken will be furnished, bring a side dish to share.
Dean Forsberg and Savannah were afternoon visitors Friday of Evelyn Forsberg.
The Peterson reunion was held Sunday at the Legion hall with 40 family members attending. Lois and Mary Deane Peterson attended the reunion.
Marilyn Hageberg and Phillip were morning visitors Oct. 5 of Darlene Gutsch. Jean Ecklund was an Oct. 6 visitor. Perry Gutsch visited early Thursday morning on his way to work.
Isla Rose Nelson of Lindsborg, Steve and Donna Hanneman of Hillsboro, and Stanley and Joyce Nelson attended church Sunday at Burdick United Methodist Church. They also attended the Peterson reunion.
Mary Deane Peterson practiced Sunday with the Hebron Lutheran Church choir for a performance Nov. 8 for the church’s 125th anniversary celebration.

Ruth Riggin is in the Herington Hospital and Gene Ecklund is at home recovering from surgery.

John and Tory Jost and Collin of St. Mary’s and Nick and Beth Weibert and Kaylee of Abilene were Sunday guests of Clint and Diana Jost. The group attended the Burdick United Methodist Church services and dinner. John and Collin stayed until Monday, James Jost was also a guest.
