Lutheran WELCA met Nov. 17 at the home of Hallie Novak. Hallie was a lesson leader. Those attending were Nancy Hanson, Lois Peterson, Carol Riffel, Jewell Swinney, and Gloria Martin.

Perry Gutsch and Whitney of Herington visited Darlene Gutsch on Nov. 19.

Corlberg-Smith 147 Auxiliary will meet at 2 p.m. Dec. 7 at Burdick Legion Hall.

Bret and Lisa Beye, Samantha, and Cuyler of Herington hosted a supper at their home Nov. 18 to honor Chelsea Cowart’s 13th birthday. Those attending were Burdette and Maureen Peterson and Roger and Rolland Peterson of Burdick; Marvin Peterson of Lincolnville; Bill and Judy Peterson and Craig and Shannon Granzow, Trent, and Shae of Herington.

Attending the Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes Nov. 19 at Wichita were Burdette and Maureen Peterson, Lynley Remy and Katie, Elinor Remy, McKenzie Deines of Ramona, Sue Gutsch of Lincolnville, and Kelli Salazar and Rico of Derby. Jan Creger, daughter of Elinor Remy, was the wardrobe supervisor for the Rockettes. The group visited with Jan and she took them backstage for a tour.

Shirley Miller and Marilyn Hageberg were visitors Nov. 22 of Darlene Gutsch.

The Corlberg-Smith 147 Legion and Auxiliary held pancake feeds Nov. 13 and 20. The profit is shared between the legion and used for upkeep of the building.

Marie Anderson brought dinner to Darlene Gutsch.

Tom Remy, Tad, and Tye were visitors Nov. 18 of Elinor Remy and her houseguest, Tim Remy.

Perry Gutsch of Herington and Gayla Deines of Ramona helped their mother, Darlene Gutsch, set up for a dinner Nov. 25 at Burdick United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Tim Remy returned to his home in Michigan on Nov. 19 after spending a week with his mother, Elinor Remy.

Darlene Gutsch attended the 16th birthday party for Justin Deines Saturday, hosted by Jeff and Gayla Deines, Jessica, and Shelby at their home. Others attending were Aaron Davis, Andrew Hajek; Tanner Brunner; Merv and Leona Deines; Terry and Julie Deines, McKenzie, Dillon, and Carly; and Weldon Deines and his granddaughter, Macy, of Herington.

Leona Anderson Accompanied Don Anderson of Emporia to spend the weekend with the Ron Andersons and Dalton in Kansas City, Mo. Other guests were Amanda Anderson, Rachel and Drew Jones of Kansas City, Mo., and the James Montagues of Liberty, Pa.

Dean Forsberg was a visitor Nov. 22 of Evelyn Forsberg.

Elinor Remy was a dinner and supper guest Thanksgiving Day of Tom and Lynley Remy and family.

Cesar and Kelli Salazar, Rico, and Mario of Derby hosted a dinner Thanksgiving Day at their home. Those attending were Burdette and Maureen Peterson of Burdick; Bret and Lisa Beye, Chelsea and Cuyler Cowart, and Bill and Judy Peterson of Herington; Ron and Jenny Schrader, Shae, and Hunter of Wichita; and Dave and Sara Denley, Ben, and Abbie of Winfield. Burdette and Maureen stayed overnight with the Salazars.

Nancy Hanson and Connie Johnson hosted the Hailey Thanksgiving Day dinner at Herington Country Club. Fifty family members attended.

Forrest and Marie Anderson stayed Nov. 23 through Sunday with Gary and Karen Korte at their home in Emporia. Erik Korte of Louisville, Ky., and Erin Korte and Jayson Hauser of Topeka also were houseguests.

Glenn Carlson visited Evelyn Forsberg on Nov. 23.

Gary and Marilyn Hageberg hosted a post-Thanksgiving Day dinner Saturday at their home. Guests were Phillip Hageberg and Teresa and Kenny Roberts of Topeka; Mike and Denice Hageberg and Trevor and Steve Hageberg of Kiowa; and Janine Hageberg and Ashlynn of Blackwell, Okla. Phillip was on leave from the Air Force, stationed in Guam. He will stay with Gary and Marilyn until Dec. 1 when he returns to Topeka. After his leave ends, he will be sent to Japan.

Lois Peterson and her houseguests, the Millers, visited Darren and Amy Makovec and family Thursday at Lost Springs. Phil and Jamie Peterson and Joyce Roever also were guests. Lois and the Millers joined Jim and Marilyn Peterson, and Jamie Dalke, Tyler, and Reagen of Chapman Friday for supper out in Abilene.

Jane Rickebrode, Wade, and Morgan of Council Grove and Savannah Hicks were dinner guests Nov. 24 of Evelyn Forsberg. They helped her prepare for Thanksgiving Day guests.

Forrest and Marie Anderson accompanied Gary and Karen Korte to Arkansas City Thursday for dinner hosted by Gary’s mother, Mary Korte.

Guests of Evelyn Forsberg on Thanksgiving Day were Kevin Marsh, Madison, and Skylar, and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade, and Morgan of Council Grove; Harry Schump of Herington; Dean and Nanette Forsberg; and Savannah and Willie Hicks. Afternoon visitors were Ethan Forsberg, Sammi Seifert, and Brian How of Concordia.

Elinor Remy and Tom Remy attended the play Nov. 23 at Centre High School. Katie Remy was a cast member.

Dean Forsberg visited Evelyn Forsberg Saturday.

Forrest and Marie Anderson helped Gary Korte celebrate his 60th birthday Sunday at their home in Emporia.

Clint and Diana Jost and James Jost attended the Jost Thanksgiving Day dinner at Hillsboro Senior Center.

Charles and Arlene Carlson were dinner guests Thursday noon of Mike and Linda Carlson at their home. Other guests were Jonnie and Cicely Karst, Rhylee, Preslee, and Britlee of Wichita and Ken and Alice Peterson of Herington.

Tad Remy and Tom Remy were guests for breakfast Thursday of Elinor Remy.

Harry Schump took Evelyn Forsberg out for dinner Sunday at Herington. They visited in the afternoon.

Chelsea Cowart visited Maureen Peterson Sunday and helped her decorate for Christmas. Other guests were Lisa Beye and Cuyler.

Clint and Diana Jost hosted a cousins’ day with Low German food Nov. 26 at their home with 50 guests attending. Some of the guests included James Jost; Naomi Nelson and Tom Nelson and Joseph and Alysia Towey of Burdick; Nick and Beth Weibert and Kaylee of Abilene; John and Tory Jost and Collin of St. Marys; Karl and Marilyn Jost and Steve and Anelle Jost of Hillsboro.

Todd and Wendy Jost, Franklin and Sonja and David Malin of Lehigh; Paul and Michel Malin, Lacy and Joey, Duain and Cher Jost, Diana David, and Mickey Wiesinger of California; Corey and Vicky Jost, Emma, Hannah, Libby, and Peter of Sheridan, Wyo.; Clint and Diana’s houseguest Marieka Breniens of Germany.

Collin Jost of St. Mary’s will remain with Clint and Diana Jost for a few days.

Keith Jr. and Nora Jean Miller, Matthew, and Megan of Grand Junction, Colo., arrived Nov. 23 and stayed with Lois Peterson until Saturday.

Darlene Gutsch and relatives hosted the annual Richmond-Nienstedt Thanksgiving Day dinner Thursday at Burdick United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Those attending were Beverly Richmond and Christian Czarnowsky of Lincolnville.
