Burdick United Methodist Women met July 21 at the Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall with eight members present. Attending were Janet Matz, Diana Jost, Karen Carlson, Susan Carlson, Linda Peterson, Nancy Riggin, Kiki Krause, and Lee Shade. Kiki Krause presented the lesson and Lee Shade was the host. The next meeting will be Aug. 18 at the fellowship hall.
Perry Gutsch was an after work visitor July 22 of Darlene Gutsch.
A birthday supper was held July 19 to celebrate Arlene Carlson’s birthday. Linda Carlson cooked and served the supper with help from Alice Peterson. Others attending were Charles Carlson, Mike Carlson, Clint and Diana Jost, James Jost, Lois Peterson, Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, and Ken and Alice Peterson of Herington.
Marilyn Hageberg and Shirley Miller joined Goldie Steeley’s nieces Janet Johnson of Enterprise and Shirley Gawith of Salina for an outing July 22 in Salina. The group had lunch out and later visited Steeley at Alterra Sterling House.
Lyal Sader and Ruth Riggin of Salina and Lois Peterson went to Wamego July 21 to visit Gary Zinn.
Dean Forsberg and Savannah Hicks were July 20 dinner guest of Evelyn Forsberg.
John and Tory Jost and Collin of St. Marys were overnight guests Friday and Saturday of Clint and Diana Jost. Beth Weibert and Kaylee of Abilene were also Saturday guests.
Burdick Council of Clubs will meet at 7:30 p.m. July 29 at the Legion Hall.
Burdick Senior Citizens met at noon Friday at the Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall with 14 members present. A sandwich and salad lunch with watermelon was provided. Morris County Treasurer Ron Hoag gave a presentation after lunch. Attending were Al and Lee Shade, Forrest and Marie Anderson, Gary Hageberg, Lois Peterson, Linnea Barlow, Elinor Remy, Leona Anderson, Joyce and Ruth Ann Carlson, all of Lincolnville; and Roger and Rolland Peterson. There will not be a meeting in August.

Dean Forsberg took Evelyn Forsberg shopping July 21 in Council Grove. Dean was also a dinner and afternoon guest Friday of Evelyn.
The Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America had a Central States Assembly Convention Thursday through Sunday in Branson, Mo. Attending were Gloria Marin, Delegate; Carol Riffel; Nancy Hanson; and Jewell Swinney, State Treasurer.
Burdick Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church in America met July 21 at the home of Gloria Martin who was also the lesson leader.
Jim and Marilyn Peterson hosted a supper and belated fireworks display Saturday at their home. Attending were Lois Peterson; Mike, Kasey, and Lyndon Peterson; and Matt, Jamie, Tyler, and Reagan Dalke of Chapman.

Marcus and Sabrina Dunkin and sons of Rose Hill hosted a fifth birthday party for Logan on Saturday at their home with 25 relatives and friends. Attending from the area were Evelyn Forsberg; Dean and Nanette Forsberg; Harry Schump of Herington; Jane Rickenbrode, Wade, and Morgan of Council Grove; and Ethan Forsberg of Jewell. Evelyn was surprised when her daughter and granddaughters, Bonnie Sue Hefner and Adrianne and Jordan Crabtree of Waggoner, Okla., also attended.
Forrest and Marie Anderson were afternoon visitors of Elae Mae Krauss July 18 at Herington Municipal Hospital.
