Forrest and Marie Anderson attended a 70th wedding anniversary celebration Aug. 15 for Luther and Lucile Spaulding in Herington.

Choir practice for Labor Day church services will be 7 p.m. today and Sept. 1, Burdick Hebron Lutheran Church.

Burdick United Methodist Women met Aug. 18 at the church fellowship hall with nine members and one guest present. Linda Basore gave devotions and Linda Peterson served refreshments. Rose Roberts of Newton gave the lesson. Also attending were Janet Matz, Darlene Gutsch, Susan Carlson, Ruth Ann Carlson, Nancy Riggin, Jean Ecklund, and Lee Shade.

Karen Korte of Emporia was a visitor Aug. 18 of her parents, Forrest and Marie Anderson.

Tim, Heather, and Corrie Remy, of Hudsonville, Mich., were visitors Thursday of Elinor Remy. They ate supper and stayed overnight on their way to pick up their son, Tanner Remy, in Estes Park, Colo., where he had spent the summer working.

Dean Forsberg was a visitor Aug. 16 of Evelyn Forsberg.

Perry and Anthony Gutsch of Herington visited Darlene Gutsch Saturday morning. They ate lunch and finished painting her machine shed.

The Burdick United Methodist Church kitchen will have a ceiling fan installed, thanks to the generosity of Lee and Al Shade.

Afternoon visitors Aug. 18 of Evelyn Forsberg were Nanette Forsberg; Savannah Hicks; and Sabrina, Logan, Konnor, Garrett, and Hunter Dunkin of Rose Hill.

Sabrina Dunkin and her children and Harry Schump were lunch guests Thursday of Evelyn Forsberg.

Katie Remy was a noon dinner guest Aug. 18 of Elinor Remy, in celebration of Katie’s birthday.

Evelyn Forsberg visited Jane Rickenbrode on Friday at Council Grove.

Perry, Anthony, and Whitney Gutsch were Sunday afternoon visitors of Darlene Gutsch. Perry and Anthony mowed her lawn and did some trimming.

Julie Sader and Ruth Riggin of Salina were visitors Saturday of Lois Peterson. They also visited Alona Hedstrom. Lois and Marilyn Peterson, Ruth Riggin, and Julie Sader had lunch together in Lost Springs.

Clint and Diana Jost were visitors Aug. 18 of Nick, Beth, and Kaylee Weibert in Abilene. The Josts visited Lorene Jost on Sunday in Hillsboro as well.

Tom and Katie Remy visited Elinor Remy Friday.

Charles and Arlene Carlson were dinner guests Sunday of Kent and Jean Brunner in Ramona. Others present were Nolan, Melissa, Leah, and Noah Brunner of Herington and Jill and Tucker Brunner of Emporia.
