Burdick United Methodist Women met Aug. 19 in Fellowship Hall of Burdick United Methodist Church. Seven members attended. Susan Carlson gave a devotional titled “Green Earth.” A lesson was presented by Jean Ecklund. Kiki Krause served refreshments. Others in attendance were Karen and Ruth Ann Carlson, Darlene Gutsch, and Linda Carlson. The next meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16.

Mary Deane Peterson visited Evelyn Forsberg Aug. 18.

Ruth Riggin and Lois Peterson visited and ate lunch with Gary Zinn Aug. 19 at Wamego.

Dean Forsberg visited Evelyn Forsberg Aug. 19 and 21.

Darlene Gutsch visited Marilyn Hageberg Thursday.

Burdick Senior Citizens will meet at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at Burdick American Legion Hall. The date was changed because of a conflict with school activities. Members will decide whether to continue operation of the senior citizens organization. Information will be provided by Council Grove Senior Center regarding money received. Those in attendance will vote whether to keep a center.

Savannah Forsberg and Willie Hicks were supper guests Thursday of Evelyn Forsberg.

Evelyn Forsberg’s early evening visitors Friday were Dean Forsberg and Mary Deane Peterson.

Tom and Lynley Remy, Tad, Tye, and Katie, accompanied Elinor Remy Aug. 19 for supper in Lost Springs. They celebrated Tad, Tye, and Katie’s birthdays, which were in August.

Clint and Diana Jost attended a party Friday at the home of Lee and Pat Nuss in Hillsboro. They celebrated Clint’s sister, Ruth Lawler’s, birthday. Others attending were Ruth’s husband, Pete, and daughter, Leeann, Lorene Jost, and Kevin and Angie Jost, Hillsboro.

Clint and Diana Jost attended a birthday party Saturday at Mapleton for Diana’s Uncle Orville Scharenberg who was 90.

Evelyn Forsberg visited Harry Schump at Herington Saturday after church.

Ruth Riggin accompanied Bob and Marena Riggin of Abilene and Rex and Rae Beck and their two children of Hutchinson to Lost Springs for supper Saturday. The Riggins and Becks had been working on their property at Burdick.

Charles and Arlene Carlson were dinner guests Sunday of Kent and Jean Brunner. Other guests were Nolan and Melissa Brunner, Leah and Noah, Herington.

Josie Peterson of Lincolnville was an evening visitor Sunday of Mary Dean Peterson.

Harry Schump was a dinner guest Sunday of Evelyn Forsberg. Afternoon guests were Dean and Nanette Forsberg.

Visitors of Darlene Gutsch last week were Lee Shade, Mary Deane Peterson, and Evelyn Forsberg. Evelyn visited Sunday with her news and a pickle recipe with a sample.

Upcoming events at Burdick United Methodist include Alpha meetings at 6 p.m. beginning Sept. 14. Burdick UMW will meet Sept. 16 at fellowship hall. The annual turkey supper will be at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 30.
