Hebron Lutheran WELCA met Jan. 21 at the home of Jewell Swinney. Carol Riffel gave the lesson. Others in attendance were Nancy Hanson, Gloria Martin, Hallie Novak, Dolly Novak, Lois Peterson, and Elinor Remy.
Dean Forsberg was a Tuesday morning visitor of Evelyn Forsberg. Glenn Carlson was an afternoon visitor.
Coffee guests of Charles and Arlene Carlson Tuesday afternoon were Roger and Rolland Peterson. Jean Brunner was a visitor after school.
Burdick Council of Clubs met Wednesday evening at the Legion Hall with 11 members present. Nancy Hanson presided in the absence of Burdette Peterson who was ill. Entertainment for Sunday evening, a grand marshal, and a theme have not been finalized. Other events were tentatively scheduled. Houseguests of Gary and Marilyn Hageberg Wednesday through Saturday morning were Marjorie (Hageberg) Price of Atlanta, Ga., her daughter, Rebecca Arrensen of Indianapolis, Ind., and Ruth Prendable of Seabrook, Md.
Phil and Ann Ford of Colorado were houseguests of Gary and Marilyn Hageberg Thursday evening through Saturday morning.

Lynley Remy of Lost Springs was a pianist Sunday at Burdick United Methodist Church while Ruth Ann and Joyce Carlson attended a cattleman’s association convention.
There was a work night Thursday evening at Burdick United Methodist Church with several men and women helping to prepare for new carpet. Some church members brought refreshments for the workers to enjoy during the evening.
Harry Schump of Herington was a Wednesday dinner guest of Evelyn Forsberg. It was his birthday. Dean and Nanette Forsberg and Willie Hicks were afternoon visitors.
Linda Peterson attended a Relay for Life meeting Thursday night at Council Grove.
Burdick United Methodist Church will sponsor its annual Valentine’s Day supper and auction Feb. 14, in the church basement. Supper will be served at 6 p.m. and an auction will follow. Sloppy joes, salad, dessert, and drinks will be served by donation. Baked goods, candy, flowers, and other items will be available for Valentine’s Day gifts. Donations will benefit the BUMC Benevolent Fund, which is available for anyone in the area to help with emergency financial needs. A three-person committee administers it from the United Methodist Church.

Evelyn Forsberg was a Friday afternoon visitor of Harry Schump after she attended the Bob Price memorial service at Herington. Forrest and Marie Anderson also attended the service.
Harry Schump took Evelyn Forsberg out for Sunday dinner at Herington and she was an afternoon visitor at his home.
Charles and Arlene Carlson accompanied Mike and Linda Carlson to the annual meeting Morris County Conservation District Saturday evening at Morris County Community Building. Others attending were Jonnie and Cicely Karst and daughters of Wichita, Forrest and Marie Anderson, Lois Peterson, Roger Peterson, and Rolland Peterson. Mike and Linda Carlson were recipients of the banker’s award for 2008.
Mary Deane Peterson was a Monday morning visitor of Diana Ecklund at Lincolnville. She visited Harvey Hawkinson Monday afternoon at Medicalodges of Herington.
After a memorial service for Bob Price Friday afternoon at Herington, some guests at the Gary and Marilyn Hageberg home were Marjorie Price, Rebecca Arrensen, Ruth Prendable, Phil and Ann Ford, Teresa Hageberg of Topeka, Denise Hageberg and Trevor, Lois Peterson, Roger Peterson, and Rolland Peterson.
“Grandpa” Francis George was in the heart unit of Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Monday through Friday. He had electric shock treatment during the week, which has corrected his irregular heartbeat. He now is at Herington Municipal Hospital and probably will be there a week. Keep him in your prayers and send cards to him at 200 E. Helen, Room 103, Herington 67449. Angela Basore spent the week with him in Wichita.
Josie Peterson of Lincolnville spent Sunday with Mary Deane Peterson. They attended Hebron Lutheran Church services and went to Tampa café for dinner.
Lois Peterson visited Phil and Jamie Peterson and their guests, John and Adrienne Richard, Sunday afternoon at Lawrence.
Elinor Remy accompanied Tom and Lynley Remy and Katie to Manhattan Sunday afternoon to visit Tad Remy at his home near Manhattan. Tye Remy of Manhattan also was there to visit.
