A supper and layette shower honoring Travis Carlson was held Saturday evening at the Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Hostesses were Janet Matz, Diana Jost, Kiki Krause, Susan Carlson, and Nancy Riggin. Those attending were Marcus and Peggy Carlson, Brooke and Brent, his friend Kyla Holland and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Holland of Herington, Joyce and Ruth Ann Carlson, Ronnie and Susan Carlson, Carrie Carlson, Eric and Bethany Carlson and Olivia, Eloy and Andrea Mendoza of Winfield, Gary and Marilyn Hageberg, Naomi Nelson, Lindsay Morgan and J.P. of Wichita, Clint and Diana Jost, Kiki Krause, and Janet Matz.
Dean Forsberg was a Monday morning and dinner guest of Evelyn Forsberg.
Jean Brunner and Lea Brunner of Herington visited Thursday afternoon with Charles and Arlene Carlson.
Burdick UMW met July 20 at the church fellowship hall. Marilyn Hageberg gave the devotions and Karen Carlson presented the lesson.
Dean Forsberg and Savannah were Tuesday afternoon visitors of Evelyn Forsberg.
Dr. Larry Peterson of Granby, Colo., and Candice Denault of Salina brought Neva Peterson to Burdick to spend the weekend at her home. Neva has been released from the hospital and is at the home of Darrell and Candice Denault. Gathering at her home Sunday afternoon for a cookout were Neva, Candice, Larry and their guests, jack Riggin, Ruth Riggin, Glenn and Sandy Carlson, Katie and Andy, and Galen and Janis Peterson. Neva returned to Salina Sunday with Larry Peterson and Candice Denault and will stay with Candice a while longer.
Marilyn Hageberg was a Monday morning visitor of Darlene Gutsch. Gayla Deines was a Monday evening visitor. She had done some shopping for her mother and brought some corn.
Dean and Nanette Forsberg and Logan and Konnor Dunkin were late Friday afternoon visitors of Evelyn Forsberg.
Bill Peterson was a Sunday dinner guest of Mary Deane Peterson.
Linda Peterson was the chairman for the Relay For Life for Morris County Friday night and Saturday at Council Grove. Morris County raised $60,000 to be given for cancer research. The Burdick team raised $10,000. Our thanks to Linda and the Burdick team for all their hard work.
Evelyn Forsberg visited Harry Schump at Herington Saturday evening.
Perry Gutsch and Anthony were Sunday morning visitors of Darlene Gutsch. They mowed her lawn and hauled trash.
Burdette and Maurreen Peterson and Rigo and Mario Salazar of Derby were Sunday evening visitors of Mary Deane Peterson.
Harry Schump was a Sunday dinner and supper guest of Evelyn Forsberg. Other Sunday visitors were Marcus and Sabrina Dunkin, Logan and Konnor of Rose Hill.
Lois Peterson and Rolland Peterson accompanied Gene and Marie Thorton of Abilene to the 50th wedding anniversary celebration Sunday afternoon for Dick and Margaret Peterson at Springhill, Mo. Jim and Marilyn Peterson also attended and Lois and Rolland returned home with them.
