Marion Senior Center correspondent

Pearl Helmer brought a glass piggy bank full of pennies to the center. Helmer wanted to donate the coins without breaking the bank. Ivanlee Timm used his pocket knife and was able to remove the pennies.

Betty Crumrine made apple butter and shared with the seniors.

Lanell Hett brought in a pale pink rose, the last one of summer.

Tai Chi classes started Nov. 8 at the center with about 20 participants. The classes will be offered through Dec. 20 and another session may be offered next year.

Seniors wanting to get their leaves raked should call or sign up at the center. Marion High School students will be raking Nov. 20 as a community service project.

Cookies were baked Nov. 10 to celebrate Larry and Thelma Blosser’s anniversary.

A presentation was given by financial advisers from Solid Financial Strategies in Hutchinson. They gave updates on Medicare and prescription drug plans to the seniors.

A presentation and Thanksgiving meal are planned for Nov. 24 and the center will be open the day after Thanksgiving.
