State rep. Bob Brookens gave an overview July 7 of the state legislature’s accomplishments.

Substitute volunteers were recruited July 12, as the regular ones were unavailable to help.

The winner of the penny jar contest was Larry Blosser. He guessed $21.95. There was $21.90 in the jar.

Charles Montgomery celebrated his birthday July 13 by treating diners to candy bars.

Linda Sardou brought her two sugar gliders July 13.

National Day of the Cowboy will be Friday. Visitors are invited to dress cowboy-style.

There will be a presentation July 27 by Diane Yoder of Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
