Marion Senior Center seems to have a bring-in-your-blooms competition going on. So far, four vases of irises and one rose have been brought in. Lanell Hett brought the rose, and Roger Bitner, Wilma Gilmer, and Shirley Bowers brought the irises.
Residents of Marion Assisted Living ate at the senior center on April 19.
Volunteers who deliver meals, work in the dining room, serve as hostesses, and do other things to keep the nutrition site operating were recognized.
The Craft Corner has baby quilts and embroidered tea towels for sale. Quilt stitching is always in progress.
The penny jar is full and people are guessing the total amount of money inside. It is a fun fundraiser.
On April 25, the Department on Aging honored its volunteers who assemble newsletters and drive for out-of-town appointments. Residents of Hilltop Manor and Ivanlee Timm, who now resides at St. Luke Living Center, ate at the senior center that day.
Ron and Connie Shipman will give the program on May 9. Ron plays the guitar, and Connie plays the fiddle as they sing.
