The flower competition continues with peonies most plentiful. Shirley Bowers has many to share. Marion Senior Center also had its first homegrown produce of the season with Harold Conyers bringing in leaf lettuce.
Lanell Hett provided treats for patrons on May 5, the 30th anniversary of her employment by Marion County Department on Aging.
We’ve enjoyed a week of trivia about famous women, mostly mothers.
Beulah Weigart provided ice cream cups for her birthday on May 7.
Fred Puttroff found a plastic shopping bag at a garage sale from Graceland with Elvis on it. Janet Bryant is now the proud owner of this bag.
The center is taking a van to the Eisenhower Museum in Abilene for their Elvis at 21 photography exhibit. The date is June 5, leaving at 12:30 p.m. The group will also stop at Russell Stover’s. Call (620) 382-2942 for more information.
Ron and Connie Shipman provided a musical program on May 9. Ron plays guitar and Connie plays fiddle. They both sing.
Visitors are encouraged to attend the center Tuesday. Amanda Gardner will talk about her hobby of couponing. The program is on a Tuesday to work around her employment schedule.
